Luxury as a way of life
Just flipping through a magazine and any part of any page advertising a 'provocation' to luxury.
I heard several women say (but I would think many men think so) that everything they see advertised, but its all the more gladly buy if they could. Clothing, fragrances, furniture, cars, equipment for hobbies, technology ... everything. Not evil, but I would say: "Fortunately they can not."
I personally believe that only a life lived in luxury (though not extreme) leads to a progressive departure from everyday reality.
This is certainly made of beautiful homes, shops, clubs and environments exclusivity, exclusive events and so on, but especially dell'operosità lot of people who live every day for survival.
The gap between these two types of reality increases day by day. There is a growing realization that those who live in luxury not even see the others. And others do not see the first, mainly because they did not even have time to watch.
The feeling you get, looking out from this situation is that those who took the luxury as a way of life tends to lose sight of the rules, justice, fairness, humanity and above all altruism.
I do not know if these few lines, you understand that luxury is not attracting me. Thanks, I need what little I have.
Luxury and solidarity
Scroll through the pages of the internet I stumbled upon information, the title said that solidarity is not a luxury. Reading that text made me understand that there would be a conference to explain the current situation in Haiti and the need to protect children in Central America.
I have nothing to rely on this nor on the purpose of the conference.
But I made a couple of thoughts, quite personal, about the situation with regard to solidarity, to demonstrate to those in need.
The first thing that comes to mind is that, instead of talking, we should all, tell all, their wallets c ontribuissero suffered because of their potential.
Who organizes these conferences has certainly already solid contribution to helping the destitute, but often has the feeling that someone erga to teach the way to go, so cross it to others. They make great speeches about what should be done, but then very few will.
Meanwhile, conference centers, and everything revolves around them, have seen an increase in its turnover. That money would be better served the cause that is advertised with the Congress. And the luxury of wasting that the needy can not afford it.
Chess: a game for many, sometimes a luxury for a few
The origin of chess is lost in the mists of time, although their spread in Europe goes back a few years after the stroke of the millennium.
Starting from Spain, then under Arab rule, the game spread to neighboring countries and Central Europe. At that time the rules were not yet established and for a period of about five centuries, followed each other definitions, adjustments, changes. Since the end of the fifteenth century took the initiation of strict rules that, despite some variations, were similar to those of today. Indeed, the current rules of the game just come from a variant of that.
The game is, as the price affordable by all, but it is very complex, requires deep reflection, strategies and processes. Not all are able to play. It takes fine minds to make a good chess player.
The chessboard and its pieces can be performed in a wide variety of materials. It starts in fact from stone, metal, glass and leather, up to the wood or plastic. If the first materials are mostly used for the preparation of decorative elements, the latter is used in the daily game.
But there is always the possibility for someone to wonder and to admire the performances of luxury, making these objects, something available to very few. Such as a checkerboard made on the surface of a table, for which a well-known sculptor has created pieces that evoke medieval warriors and situations. They are bronze with gold plating or silver and cost of eighty thousand Euros. This is your exclusive luxury.
